Who writes this site
I'm Fati Güler, and I write The Gift Primer from İzmir, Turkey.
I've been a gamer for a long time, and over the years I've bought, gifted and redeemed a lot of game keys, store credit, subscription codes and gift cards. Along the way I noticed how much the small details matter: which platform and region a key belongs to, whether a card was actually activated, how a subscription code interacts with a plan you already have, and how convincing a fake "you've received a gift" message can look.
Whenever I went looking for answers, they were scattered, buried in terms and conditions, or written by someone trying to sell me something. So I started The Gift Primer to put clear, neutral explanations in one place, for anyone giving or receiving a digital gift.
I'm not a financial adviser, a lawyer or an industry insider, and I'm not affiliated with any company. I'm simply someone who wanted straightforward answers and decided to write them down. You can reach me at fati@thegiftprimer.com or through the contact page.
Why this site exists
Digital gifts are everywhere: gift cards in emails, game keys in messages, store credit, subscriptions and, increasingly, cryptocurrency. Yet clear, neutral explanations of how they actually work are surprisingly hard to find. Most of what exists is written to sell something. The Gift Primer is the opposite: a place to understand the mechanics, the fine print and the risks, written without anything to sell.

- Not a review or comparison site. The guides explain how things work in general; they do not rank or recommend products or services.
- Not a way to buy crypto. The site does not explain how or where to buy, sell or trade cryptocurrency.
How the guides are written
Every guide aims to be accurate, neutral and useful to someone who is new to the topic. Because terms and laws vary by country and by issuer, the guides describe common patterns and point readers to the terms that apply to their own situation.
